I enjoyed doing this assignment. I think we often become set in our ways and preferences and lose sight of the quality of different opinions. This task allowed two sides of an argument to be represented through research (as opposed to emotion). The PowerPoint was a good way of presenting the information in a consice and easy-to-read format. The web log was especially important. I think most of the time people merely search for information and, without determining if the source is legitimate, deem the information as fact. Finally, this assignment was important because it allowed me to think about one of many issues that will be presented to me as I begin teaching. I will have to be able to defend my decisions in the classroom (i.e. why I let my students play games as a part of my lesson plan).
